The Mystery of the Missing Rainbow Colors
Once upon a time, in a sunny town where everything was bright and cheerful, lived a happy couple, Lily and Tom. Lily was a talented artist who loved to paint with vibrant colors, and Tom was a friendly school teacher. They both loved to laugh and play games, but more than anything they wanted to paint a big, beautiful rainbow together. They had the perfect spot, a giant canvas in their backyard, and they were excited to start!
One day, Lily tripped while playing tag with Tom and scraped her knee really badly. They went to Dr. Bright, a very smart doctor who was known all around town for her special bandages. Dr. Bright carefully cleaned and bandaged Lily’s knee, and then, something strange happened. When Lily woke up, all the colors in her paintbox seemed dull. The red was like a pale pink, the blue looked grey, and the yellow had lost its sparkle!
Lily and Tom were very worried. How could they paint a beautiful rainbow if all the colors were so sad? They decided to investigate. They asked all their friends if they had seen anything strange. Some said they saw a mischievous sprite with colorful wings flying around the hospital where Dr Bright worked. Others remembered that Dr Bright had mentioned using special, magical paint in the bandages.
Lily and Tom went back to Dr. Bright and asked her about the magic paint. Dr. Bright smiled, 'I knew you would find out eventually! The magic paint I used in the bandages needed bright colors, but it didn't take them all away, only a little bit. You can help me gather them back to help other hurt kids'. Lily, Tom, and even Dr. Bright, set out to collect the color that had flown away. They found a little bit of red from a cardinal's feather, a splash of yellow on a sunflower, and a droplet of blue from a bluebird. Once they had a little bit of each color, they mixed them and restored all the colors in their paintbox!
With bright colors back in their paintbox, they painted a rainbow so vibrant it made the whole town sparkle! And from that day forward, every time they saw a rainbow, they remembered how the magic of friendship and kindness can bring color to the world.
