The Magical Midnight Bus
Lily, a bright-eyed girl with a sketchbook always in hand, was on a big adventure! She was riding the midnight bus, a special bus that only appeared on the last night of summer. As the bus chugged along, she noticed a boy with a telescope named Finn. Finn loved looking at the stars and was heading to the biggest hill in town to watch the sunrise.
They started talking, and Lily showed Finn her drawings of silly monsters and fantastical creatures. Finn pointed out constellations and shared stories of the moon and planets. They realized they both had a night to do whatever they wished for. So, they decided to get off the bus together in the small town of Willow Creek.
Willow Creek was filled with glowing fireflies and the sound of crickets. Lily and Finn wandered through its tiny streets, laughing and making up stories. They raced each other on the playground and built a fort with fallen leaves. Lily drew pictures on the sidewalk with colored chalk, and Finn taught her how to spot the Big Dipper in the sky. They even sang silly songs they made up on the spot!
As the sky started to turn a soft pink, they knew it was almost time for the midnight bus to come back. They sat on the hill, watching the sun slowly rise and painting the sky with beautiful colors. It was a special night, filled with new adventures and a new friend, but they knew that the midnight bus only came once a year, and they had to go back home. So, before getting back on the bus, they promised each other that when the last summer night comes again they will meet there again, on the same hill, to watch another sunrise together.
